Music Nova Scotia is hosting a town hall to generate constructive conversation about gender issues in the music industry. The goal is to work towards collective solutions to overcome roadblocks and challenges.

This will not be just be about airing grievances, but identifying and acknowledging common gender issues within the local music industry, using real-life scenarios to propose action or change and offering support to each other moving forward.

All are welcome, however, this session is directed towards women working in the music industry and priority will be given to those from that group to speak.

This will be the third edition of this town hall and is now a regular running program for Music Nova Scotia.

Keynote by Stacie Huckeba

Stacie Huckeba is an internationally recognized photographer and video producer. She is also a successful blogger for the Huffington Post and public speaker. Her 30-year career has spanned decades and genres, she has photographed icons such as Billy Joel, Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Brenda Lee, Percy Sledge, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Robert Plant, Lenny Kravitz, Merle Haggard, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Tom T Hall and countless others.

Her current client roster includes The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, The Americana Music Association, Sony Music Group, Yep Rock Music Group, Redeye Distribution, Gold Mountain Entertainment, Miktek Audio, CBRE and SOHO Myriad.

Her still photography has been featured on numerous album covers, national publications and websites worldwide. Her video productions have been premiered on Rolling Stone, USA Today, The Huffington Post, TNN, The Wall Street Journal and CMT.

She also currently has permanent installations at the Omni Hotel Nashville and The Hyatt Place, Downtown Nashville.
