NEW IN 2021:
MUSIC AND INDUSTRY AWARD SUBMISSIONS HAVE BEEN AMALGAMATED TO ONE FORM SUBMISSION. THIS MEANS THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO PUT FORWARD MULTIPLE CATEGORY SUBMISSIONS FOR CONSIDERATION ACROSS BOTH AWARDS FOR ONE $30 FEE.

MUSIC AWARDS (29 CATEGORIES)

Due to the cancellation of the 2020 Music Nova Scotia Awards and Nova Scotia Music Week, there will be a one time extended eligibility period that encompases two years’ worth of eligibility. Artists who have more than one project within this period of time may submit multiple projects. There will only be one winner per category.

All Nova Scotian artists who are members in good standing and have released recordings between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2021 are eligible to submit for the 2021 Music Nova Scotia Awards. You are not eligible to be nominated for the same recording two years in a row.

There are nine (9) categories that do not require a recording: Acadian/Francophone Artist of the Year, African Nova Scotian Artist of the Year, Children’s Artist of the Year, DJ of the Year, Electronic Artist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year (public vote), Indigenous Artist of the Year, Musician of the Year, and Digital Artist of the Year.

INDUSTRY AWARDS (21 CATEGORIES)

The Music Nova Scotia Industry Awards recognize the achievements and contributions of our industry professionals and leaders from across Nova Scotia over the past year. These awards celebrate the people and companies who are working to build a strong and vibrant Nova Scotia music industry.

Nominees who are members of Music Nova Scotia will receive a complimentary delegate pass to Nova Scotia Music Week 2021 (NSMW), which offers access to all showcases (subject to capacity) and the conference.

Winners will be announced at Nova Scotia Music Week in Truro, NS, November 4-7, 2021.
