Music Nova Scotia Announces the Support4Culture Artist Lounge!

 
 

(September 26, 2023 - Halifax, NS) Music Nova Scotia is excited to announce that by popular demand, the Support4Culture Artist Lounge and ECMA Wellness Hub will be returning to Nova Scotia Music Week 2023!

Created for showcasing artists and located in The Gilded Courtroom (403 Main St, Yarmouth, NS), the Support4Culture Artist Lounge and ECMA Wellness Hub’s goal is to help keep stress levels low during this high-intensity week; take a comfortable seat, grab a snack, and connect with your peers.

Sessions taking place in the Support4Culture Artist Lounge:

Friday, November 3:

  • 10am-12pm: SOCAN 1:1 Consultations

  • 1pm-1:50pm: ECMA Wellness Hub - Rhythm and Rattles - Parent Peer Support Group

  • 2pm-2:50pm: Support4Culture Mentorship Café

  • 3pm-3:50pm: NSCC Recording Arts Student and Artist Meet-Up

Saturday, November 4:

  • 1pm-1:50pm: ECMA Wellness Hub - Queer Artistry Collective - Peer Support Group

  • 2pm-2:50pm: Playing to Tracks - Peer Learning Session

  • 3pm-3:50pm: Support4Culture Mentorship Cafe

Throughout the weekend:

  • ECMA Wellness 1-on-1’s: Do you have concerns about your mental health or substance use? Have you had difficulty accessing supports you feel would help you? Have you self diagnosed based on symptoms and would like a professional opinion?
    Errin Williams, licensed clinical therapist and social worker with over 10 years of mental health counselling experience, is available to meet with you during Nova Scotia Music Week. You and Errin will meet confidentially to come up with a plan to assist you in meeting your mental health and wellness goals. Please reach out to book an appointment wellness@ecma.com - there is no charge for this service.

  • Complimentary headshot photography for showcasing artists from Support4Culture and Meghan Tansey-Whitton (pre-registration is required and will be sent to showcasing artists directly)

  • Tea, coffee, snacks, etc. will be provided thanks to our friends at Sobeys Yarmouth

  • Drop-in hearing support sessions: receive a free consultation from the experts at East Coast Hearing and enjoy 20% off hearing tests (regular price $80) and protection!

  • Rental vouchers and accessories courtesy of Long & McQuade Halifax

Meals

  • Thanks to our incredible partners Support4Culture, lunch is on us! We will once again be offering showcasing artists one meal voucher per band member that can be redeemed at The Shanty Café (6B Central St, Yarmouth, NS). Meal vouchers will be given to artists at registration with their passes, redeemable for the following menu items:

    • Aloo Wrap Combo

    • Chicken Caesar Salad 

    • Breakfast Sandwich Combo

    • Little Shanty Breakfast

    • Chicken Sandwich Combo
