Hillsburn Receives Six Music Nova Scotia Award Nominations
Garrett Mason, Jodi Guthro, Port Cities and POSTDATA Added to Festival Lineup

It’s finally time to start speculating: we’ve rounded up all of the Nova Scotia Music Award nominees to showcase the best musicians and industry players the province has to offer. Hillsburn leads the way with six nominations in this year’s Music Nova Scotia Awards, including nods in major categories Entertainer of the Year and Recording of the Year. David Myles, Gabrielle Papillon, Matt Steele & The Corvette Sunset and Mo Kenney all follow with four nominations each. The Nova Scotia Music Awards will be presented on Sunday, November 4 at Nova Scotia Music Week (NSMW) in Truro, Nova Scotia.

All current members of Music Nova Scotia are eligible to vote for this year’s Music and Industry Awards, and can head over to the Music Nova Scotia website to do so. Voting opens today and will close on Friday, September 28 at 5:00 PM ADT. Music Nova Scotia members will receive voting instructions via email. But members aren’t the only ones who are allowed to participate—the public will get the chance to vote for the Entertainer of the Year Award, voting opens Friday, October 5, and closes on Friday, October 19. The Music Nova Scotia Awards celebration and closing party will take place on Sunday, November 4 at the Holiday Inn Truro, all the winners will be revealed and awards presented, the celebration kicks off at 7:00 PM.

In the days leading up to the Sunday night award celebration, music fans will have the opportunity to see the absolute best in Nova Scotia music, with more than 100 performances featuring over 80 different artists. Garrett Mason, George Canyon, POSTDATA, Erin Costelo, Port Cities, Reeny Smith, Christine Campbell, and Hillsburn make up only a fraction of the exceptional acts playing November 1-4 in downtown Truro.
