John’s deep fascination with making music was born the day the Mullane family acquired its first home synthesizer in 1987. By 16 he was recording his own songs on a 4-track cassette recorder. Shortly thereafter his attention turned to a cinematic brand of rock music that has kept him busy to this day. Employing a penchant for melodic, textured and layered music John has been the driving force behind all In-Flight Safety’s award-winning albums. As the end of In-Flight Safety’s last album cycle for their latest record ‘Conversationalist’ winded down, John has pointed his focus outward. He has spent that last two years producing and co-writing with other artists – something he has wanted to focus on for years.
