Music Nova Scotia Announces NSMW Youth Conference and Showcase!

 
 

(October 5, 2023 - Halifax, NS) Music Nova Scotia is excited to announce a youth conference and showcase taking place at Nova Scotia Music Week on Saturday November 4 in Yarmouth/Kespukwitk, Nova Scotia! Based on feedback from youth artists and industry professionals across the province, Music Nova Scotia has created a day of conference programming aimed to support the specific needs and goals of youth looking to develop their careers as artists and/or music industry professionals, as well as a showcase. The event is aimed at young musicians and music industry ages 15 and over. 

Sessions will be held in the Argyle/Clare Room at the Rodd Grand Yarmouth and will cover the following topics:

11:00AM - 11:05AM - Welcome & Introduction with Dena Williams

11:05AM - 11:50AM - Building Your Scene - DIY & All Ages Spaces

11:55AM - 12:35PM - SOCAN 101

1:00PM - 1:45PM - Artist AMA - Keynote with DeeDee Austin

1:50PM - 2:35PM - Crafting Your Network - Building Meaningful Relationships To Support Your Future Career

2:40PM - 3:10PM - Black Girl Magic

3:15PM - 3:30PM - Closing Remarks with Dena Williams

4:30PM - 6:00PM - Youth Showcase presented by IGNITE Atlantic, featuring performances by Amy Hirschfeld, County Connection, Arwen Brobbin, DeeDee Austin, and Kye Clayton

All Nova Scotia Music Week delegate passholders are welcome to attend these conference sessions. Those looking to attend the youth conference and showcase specifically may redeem a FREE Youth Conference & Showcase Pass here! These passes are available for all ages 15 and older and do NOT gain access to regular NSMW programming.
