Music Nova Scotia Announces PIER BEER Collaboration with Change Is Brewing and Alexander Keiths in Support of Sydney Youth Programs
(Nova Scotia – October 4, 2022) In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Nova Scotia Music Week, Music Nova Scotia has brought together Change is Brewing and the Alexander Keiths Nova Scotia Brewery to create a new celebratory beer, the PIER BEER. This maple and spruce amber lager was canned at the historic Alexander Keiths Brewery and has notes of maple, floral spruce, mild gingerbread and cinnamon. A perfect beer to get you ready for the fall season!
As a legacy project, proceeds from the sale of this brew will go towards various Youth Programs in the Sydney area such as BGC Cape Breton, The Youth Project, YMCA, and EPIC.
This beer was brewed on Miꞌkmaꞌki in collaboration with Music Nova Scotia, Change is Brewing and Alexander Keith’s brewery. It gives recognition to the melting pot of diversity & culture in Unimaki, Cape Breton. We raise a glass to Sydney’s new “PIER BEER” and Music Nova Scotia’s 25th anniversary!
To celebrate the launch of this special collaboration, Music Nova Scotia, Change Is Brewing, and Alexander Keiths will be hosting a launch party celebration at the Alexander Keith’s Brewery on October 24th from 5:30PM - 9PM.

Alexander Keith's beer has been raised in Nova Scotia since 1820. It's a province where the water informs every aspect of its character from dramatic scenery, to distinctive culture and of course, exceptional beer. The coast itself is where everything comes together: the land, the sea, and the people who have called it all home for generations. Their inspiration, since 1820, is derived from these remarkable qualities and the extraordinary people met along the way.
Music Nova Scotia is a non-profit organization that has worked since 1989 with a mandate to encourage the creation, development, growth and promotion of Nova Scotia’s music industry.
